A short novel about this site and its author.
My idea for this site is very simple. Provide a site that is easy to use, yet complex enough to
handle needs for the most experienced person. If you don't see a feature you want, please email me!
It all started when using a certain program (which will remain nameless) where I had to download
and install software to my local PC. While the ideas this "record keeping" piece of software
had were sound, it did not run, look, or operate in what I considered an optimal manner. Thus,
I began toying with the idea of creating this site.
Why is this system any better? Well, to start, you don't have to install, upgrade, or remove any
software from your machine, ever. We also take pride in being 100% compatible to the W3C HTML 4.01
standards. That garbage means that this site looks and operates uniformly on nearly every
operating system and web browser out there. You also gain the ability to easily share your information
with others.
We backup your data on our triple redundant backup system so you may rest
assured that the information you have been recording for the last 10 years, is safe with us. Speaking of 10
years worth of information, how about a nice graphing system to help you display your slew of information
in a nice looking format! Perhaps you would rather download it in an spreadsheet compatible format? Maybe
you'd rather stick with the regular display under the View tab. No problem.
What about the fish, corals, mushrooms, and all that other great stuff. Surely you may want to keep
images of how that progresses over the weeks/months/years. Why not put it online where others can see
your wonderful accomplishemnts? You are also able to upload images on whatever frequency you wish and
we will datestamp them with whatever date you wish. Within the images section you are able to look at your
specific inhabitants images, in a historical order. Outside of your own management section, you may elect
to publish your images to the gallery for all to see!
With this tied into your water parameters we can mine for growth information, possible causes for disease
in fish and coral and hopefully much more! If your new to the fish/reef tank hobby, take comfort in the water
parameter graphs showing you what the recommended paramaters are. Thus, you'll be able to see if your in that
'sweet spot'. When people ask you for your water parameters, give them a link to your 'tank list' and let them
review everything about your tank.
